Melissa and Ben’s Brantwood Farms barn wedding in St. George, Ontario was certainly one of my favourites this season. You may remember this lovely duo from their engagement session, where they incorporated their own handmade canoe paddles (and how awesome is that?!). Naturally, their wedding day was equally filled with many fabulous DIY projects, such as their stunning wedding arbor, which yes, they made themselves! Honestly, these two are so creative.
Aside from all of their amazing DIY touches, they handcrafted a day that truly reflected who they are. What I have observed from Melissa and Ben is that their faith, their family, and their friends are the most important things to them. If you ever needed someone to help you out or just to be there, you can always count on Mel & Ben :). So, as a result, they had family members and friends take part in almost every aspect of their wedding. Melissa’s cousin, Nate Friesen, sang them down the aisle. Ben’s cousin, Kim Parton, did such a beautiful job with the floral design. And Ben’s Oma even gave them their own special Bible in memory of their wedding day.
Then they had other personal touches like having pizza served as part of their wedding dinner (pizza is one of their favourite foods… and really, why isn’t it at every wedding?! 😉 ). And the list goes on, right down to the lovely ladies that served their home made pie for dessert! Oh and since we are discussing the food, their caterers, Strodes BBQ & Deli from Brantford, served the most delicious turkey dinner.
These two are surrounded by two amazing families that have supported them, loved them, and prayed for them every step of the way. And now that they are beginning this new journey in marriage together, there is no doubt that their friends and family will continue doing just that for the years to come. Congratulations Ben & Mel! It was such a privilege to be a part of your day. xx
